Why did Michael Myers kill the Mexican dude when he escaped from the mental hospital?

Just wondering cuz he was nice to Myers when he was locked up. For
example, he tells some other guy to not touch his masks and even gives
him a nickname,"Mikey", meaning he treated him like a friend.
